I am a practising artist and wanted to learn specific things about how to use oil paints in order to achieve delicious crisp, clean colours. I am learning all that and much more. Throughout her sessions Yana maintains a clear focus on an awareness of the subject in terms of perception of tone and colour. Yana is a talented and successful artist, yet she is generous with her time and energy. Yana provides acutely observed critiques of our work in progress. She is warm and joyful and is genuinely interested in helping each of us to find our own voice. Such teachers are hard to find. WEEKEND WORKSHOPS

HOW: Through diagnostic discussion, peer critique and practical application of solutions. WHAT TO BRING: works you would like help with in any 2D medium. Plus relevant materials. COST: £75 Bring food to share This workshop will focus on finding ways to capture and express movement and energy. Using Tavistock town centre as our base to observe the many and varied forms of movement and activity. People, traffic, changing light on buildings, the river... Collecting source material to develop in the studio or creating work in situ. And do feel free to bring any existing studies that you would like to work on.
